Alexandra KAZAKOVA

I select my subjects and themes based on the daily wonders that captivate me, preferring to delve into seemingly ordinary topics that might be overlooked but harbor unexpected depth.
My favorite medium is acrylic and a palette knife. It gives me the freedom to work quickly, to create a range of challenging textures, from heavy impasto to thin translucent layers that add depth and movement to my artwork. It's a great way to express myself.

Alexandra Kazakova was born in the USSR, and since 2005, she has been living and working in Paris.

She started her artistic training at the age of 12 at the school of traditional Russian decorative art, where she studied decorative painting on wooden objects. About 10 years ago, she turned towards photography, and for the past three years, she has mainly focused on drawing and painting. Her art is a journey through cultures, largely inspired by her encounters.

A pivotal moment in her art journey was her move to France – a decision that infused her work with new dimensions. Here, she could immerse herself in the works of the Great Old Masters and embrace the essence of the Impressionist movement, thereby influencing her creative perspective.

Her thirst for learning and growth has led her to refine her skills through workshops with artists such as Sophie Barki, Pierre Stankevich, Torsten Wolber, Emily Mota...

Fascinated with psychology and particularly the relationship between people, Alexandra represents human feelings and relationships through shadows, lines and color.
"Each of us carries our own stories, our own pains, our own hopes and dreams".
Creativity for her is a way of self-discovery and self-development.

"Art helps me focusing on hope and optimism, helps me feel more connected with my inner joy and people".
