At the heart of works lies interest in space exploration and passion for astronomy and physics. They are combination of Carl Sagan's light, romantic vision of the cosmos and awareness of the general unfriendliness of traveling in a "tin can" in an airless space amidst radiation. Mixed from science and fiction, contemporary abstractionism that encourages progress. I would like to show once again with my practice that space research and science are not at all "some distant incomprehensible” studies, but the closest and most relevant ones. I create contemporary abstract canvases - spectacular views of space and practice traditional Japanese ink painting - gyotaku and suibokuga.

Creating photographs and paintings, I get inspiration from science and space exploration. I would like to show once again with my practice that space research and science are not at all "some distant incomprehensible” studies, but the closest and most relevant ones. For example, the barely pronounced “room-temperature superconductivity” is going to accelerate today’s transport and lift it above the ground in the near future. Moreover, the search for other planets suitable for life is not at all entertainment, it has become an urgent need, given how much how we have littered and polluted our own Earth.

Passion for astronomy and physics has shaped my approach to art practice: I prefer to plan, calculate, accurately measure and control everything. An introvert with an engineering mindset — that’s about me. If I were a book, it would be a science-fiction novel like Lem’s, Asimov’s or Peter Watts’s.

Currently I am working on paintings - contemporary abstract canvases - spectacular views of space. I also practice traditional Japanese ink painting: gyotaku (imprint of fish) and suiboku-ga (ink wash painting, better known as sumi-e).

I studied in an art class at high school, then attended a number of photography courses and graduated from the Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia. My works were presented at exhibitions in St. Petersburg, Moscow and London. I have also participated in filming and major photo projects.
